Dave Bovenmyer
Dave Bovenmyer has been a pastor since 1974, serving in Ames, Iowa, East Lansing, Michigan, and Silver Spring, Maryland. He has served as editor of several of the association's publications and has helped to write many of the Great Commission Leadership Institute articles. In the late 1980s, Dave served as the initial executive director of Great Commission Ministries. He has been married to Dawn since 1975 and is the father of seven children. He currently pastors in Ames, Iowa with a ministry emphasis in counseling and theological training.

Dennis Clark
Dennis is one of the founders of the Great Commission church movement. He has served as a pastor of several Great Commission churches over the past 35 years, helping plant churches in the Midwest and on the East Coast. He and Thelma have been married for over 30 years, and they have 9 children and 9 grandchildren. Dennis currently serves as a pastor at Prairie View Community Church in Parker, CO.

Mark Darling
Mark has been married for over twenty-five years and is a father of four, two of whom are now married. He and Kathy, his wife, live in Eagan, Minnesota. After spending ten wonderful years in Ames, Iowa, learning and growing in the church there, Mark was ordained and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he has been pastoring and church planting for the last 20 years. He currently pastors at the Rock, serves as a Great Commission Church board member, serves in the Northlands region, provides leadership to the Faithwalkers conference, and works nationally and internationally to help serve and strengthen Great Commission Churches.

John Hopler
John and his wife Sandy have been married since 1977 and have eight children, ages 28 to 14. John is Director of the Great Commission Churches national office in the Columbus, Ohio area. He came to Christ in 1973 while at Ohio State University and became a pastor in 1979 at the OSU campus church. For over 20 years, John has been leading nationally in Great Commission, overseeing programs such as Great Commission Leadership Institute, Prayer Partners, and the Pastors Conference. In addition, John provides leadership to regional church planting and pastoring the pastors.

Brent Knox
From an ordinary student at Iowa State University, Brent is now the co-founding pastor of Evergreen Community Church. Evergreen is a unique multi-site church of about 2200 people at five locations in the Minneapolis area. Its innovative practices have modeled a fresh approach to reach the unchurched and also pioneered the cutting-edge multi-site phenomena currently occurring across the country. Brent is also a regional director for the Great Commission Northlands.

Chris Martin
Chris lives in Ohio with his wife Louise and four children. After joining the Great Commission movement at Ohio State University, he began pastoring in 1987 in Akron, Ohio. In 1991 he moved to the Columbus area to serve at Linworth Road Church, first as the missions/ evangelism pastor and now as the point leader for an incredible team of elders, staff and church family.

Herschel Martindale
Herschel is one of the founders of the Great Commission Church movement. He has been married for over 50 years to his wife Mardean. He has been pastoring and church planting for 45 years, and is currently a pastor of Valley View Community Church in Missouri, in addition to serving on staff with GCM as Europe Director Emeritus with Europe Ministries. Herschel is currently helping to develop the International Ministry Team for GCC. He has studied various languages as a help in international development.

Tom Short
At age 21, Tom was one of the youngest pastors ever to serve in the Great Commission movement. Twenty-nine years later, he continues to give his life to reach others by boldly and powerfully proclaiming the gospel to crowds on campuses all over America. He has served in churches in Columbus, OH; College Park, MD; Roswell, GA; and San Diego, CA. He and his wife, Roz, have five children.

Rick Whitney
Rick and Neva live outside of Denver, Colorado, where they raised their (now graduated) seven children. They have been involved in church planting in many states over the last thirty years. Their kids are also involved in church planting and ministry in Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, and soon in Texas. Rick works at the regional and national level within Great Commission Churches.
